But also... eBay lists tons of great new and used ATVs each and every day. If you're looking for a little mechanized help around the ranch, garden or farm - and whether you refer to it as a "four wheeler," "farm quad" or simply an "ATV," you'll save hundreds of dollars buying online - if not thousands. The trick, though, is finding a 4X4 selling near you. After all, it's not going to do you any good to find a 4 wheeler in Nevada if your farm or ranch is in South Carolina, right?

LocalHorsePower.com lists ATVs selling on eBay within a reasonable driving distance from your home - usually not more than 250 miles. Simply follow the link (left) marked "By Your Location" to see every farming quad, utility cart or suitable set of used tires selling near you right now on eBay.

Also, scroll to the bottom of most pages and (again, left column) you'll find utility vehicles for sale listed not by location - but by brand:

A Word of Caution
eBay has its bad apples, as does most any group. Research your four wheeler purchase thoroughly and establish a relationship with your seller before laying down any money. Me, I'd go look at the vehicle in person to check out my intended purchase. (Don't forget, most vehicles listed here are "stabled" within a few hours drive of your home.)

A few things you can do to protect yourself:
- go see the ATV/cart in person (or send one of your friends who lives locally)
- get the seller's telephone number and call to say hi, thereby confirming their existence
- any deal that seems to good to be true... probably is
- never, never send payments with Western Union; you can't get your money back
- never, never, never, make deals with someone who sends you an email offering a deal AFTER an auction ends or one outside of eBay
